Edible dried neem flowers - use this to make Veppampoo rasam.
Recipe- take extract of a small gooseberry sized tamarind. boil tamarind extract with turmeric powder, hing, salt and a little bit of jaggery. you can add slit green chillies to this if you like. I personally do not add any rasam podi for this rasam. Once the tamarind water loses its raw smell, add diluted, mashed and cooked toor dal - very little. Let it simmer for a few more minutes. Tadka - ghee, mustard seeds, red chillies - 3 to 4 broken - curry leaves. Top it with a couple of tbsp of neem flowers fried in ghee. Take care not to burn the flowers. Enjoy with rice and roasted papad.
