Ingredients:
- 1 cup legumes (channa or other preferred legume)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon urad dal
- 2-3 red chillies
- A few curry leaves
- A pinch of asafoetida
- 1 medium onion (optional), chopped
- 2 tablespoons Mylaporekitchens Chundal Podi
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly chopped coriander, for garnish
- Grated coconut, for garnish
- Crushed green chillies, to taste
- Grated mango or lemon juice, for added flavor (optional)
Instructions:
1. *Soak and cook legumes*: Soak the legumes overnight, then pressure cook them until tender. Drain and set aside.
2. *Temper*: Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
3. *Add aromatics*: Add urad dal, red chillies, curry leaves, and asafoetida. Saute until the dal is lightly browned.
