Simple dry subzi/curry with fresh tuvarai
Ingredients

Raw Thuvarai - Fresh Pigeon peas - shelled

MK Sambar Podi

MK Chilli powder
-
MK turmeric powder
-
Coconut oil
-
Mustard seeds
-
Jeera
-
Urad dal
-
Curry leaves
-
Asafoetida
-
Salt to taste
Directions
Peel Thuvarai. Wash, drain and pressure cook - 2 whistles.
Heat Kadai. Temper with coconutoil, mustard seeds, urad dal, jeera, asafoetida and curry leaves.
Sauté onions, add tuvarai. Onions are optional. Tastes great even without it.
- Add salt. Spice powders - turmeric, red chilli, curry powder and sambar podi ( all available @mylaporekitchens ). Saute.
- Can garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Recipe Note
You can also make a thoran with this, by adding a garnish of grated coconut and crushed green chillies ! Pairs best with a nice, arachuvitta sambar.
