Winter recipes, and perfect for this weather. This is the season of delicious Kamala oranges and when you buy some, set aside 1-2 to try this recipe !
Ingredients

Tomato - 1 - chopped as you like

Oranges - 2 - extract juice

Green chillies - slit - 2

Ginger - grated -1 tbsp

Lemon - 1 - extract juice

Salt to taste

Jaggery -1 pinch

Ghee or coconut oil for tempering - Use coconut oil for vegan version

MK Turmeric powder

MK Red chilli powder

MK Rasam powder

Diluted tuvar dal water - take a ladle of cooked toor dal, mash well, add half water and mix well to dilute. adjust water as needed

Chopped coriander for garnishing

Directions
To a kal chatti (or any utensil, add water, rasam podi, red chilli podi, turmeric powder, salt, jaggery, green chillies, ginger and tomatoes.
Gently boil for about 10 minutes. Add the diluted dal water. Do the tadka. Switch off.
Add the orange and lemon juices. Garnish with coriander. Serve hot with ghee and rice ! Enjoy.
Recipe Note
Do not re heat this rasam. It’ll turn bitter. The water measurement is just a guide. Adjust consistency and quantity as you cook. Rasam is a broth and should not be too thick.
