A quick kaara chutney for idli, dosa, aappam etc.
Ingredients
- Small onions a cup OR
- Tomato 1-2
- Garlic - 2-3 cloves
- Red chilies - 10 or to taste
- Tamarind - 1 gooseberry sized
- Jaggery a small bit
- Salt to taste

Directions
Sauté onions, garlic, tomatoes.
- Add tamarind, red chillies, and sauté a bit.
- Grind all ingredients together.
Heat pan. Add oil and temper with mustard seeds, urad dal, red chillies, curry leaves, hing. Add ground mixture. Sauté till colour changes and it’s cooked.
Recipe Note
Serve with idli, dosa or aappam.
